Sixth chords
Sixth chords are major triads (1-3-5) with the addition of the sixth scale note. This gives a chord formula of 1-3-5-6.Sixth chords are also synonymns for minor seventh chords - the chord C6 (C-E-G-A) has exactly the same notes as Am7 (A-C-E-G).
